Arkansas vs. Alabama, Tennessee vs. Texas A&M 2016 odds: Opening point spreads released

Info trickled out on Sunday afternoon about the two biggest games of the weekend.

NCAA Football: UCLA at Texas A&M Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

As is often the case, opening odds were revealed for some of the biggest games of the upcoming weekend on Sunday afternoon. The SEC wasn’t excluded from this as point spreads are out for two of the biggest games of the weekend in the conference.

Those, of course, would be the tilts between Alabama and Arkansas and Tennessee and Texas A&M. Both matchups should have heavy implications in the race in the SEC West and, in the Volunteers’ case, the pursuit of the SEC East crown. Arkansas will have a chance to tag Alabama with their first loss of the season while something will have to give between the Volunteers and Aggies, both of whom are unbeaten to this point.

As it stands at the moment, Alabama is a 13-point favorite over Arkansas. Despite the contest being played in Fayetteville, Vegas likes the Tide and likes them a lot. The lines at 5Dimes and BETNOW are 12.5, meanwhile, but the Tide are still considered heavy favorites in this game regardless.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M opens as a 6.5-point favorite over Tennessee. This isn’t too terribly surprising with A&M being the home team and the Volunteers needing some magic and manufacturing second half comebacks in each of the last two weeks. Elsewhere, the line is at 7 points in the favor of the Aggies.

Thus far this season, here are each of these team’s records ATS:

Alabama: 3-2

Arkansas: 2-3

Tennessee: 2-3

Texas A&M: 4-1
