Alabama and Auburn may hate each other’s guts -- well, the fans at least -- but the two archrivals share something in common for their looming Week 8 matchups with Texas A&M and Arkansas.

Both the Crimson Tide and the Tigers have opened as heavy favorites in each of these upcoming encounters. The odds, which were released on Sunday afternoon, lean very much towards Nick Saban and Gus Malzahn’s squad.

Despite the fact that the meeting between Alabama and the visiting Aggies will likely be a Top 10 matchup, that hasn’t deterred the spread from being marginal. On the contrary. Alabama opens as a 16.5-point favorite over Texas A&M. Thus far, ‘Bama is a hearty 5-2 ATS, but the Aggies aren’t too far behind, checking in at 4-2 ATS in 2016.

Auburn meanwhile might not be a double digit favorite, but they are quite close. The Tigers open as 9-point favorites over the Razorbacks. Auburn has been great ATS this year, posting a 5-1 record, while Arkansas has not fared as well, sitting at 3-4 ATS in 2016.
