Your Ridiculous Numbers from a Wild Game: Auburn 65, Arkansas 43
There are few words for the Krakatoa of points we saw Saturday night in the Auburn-Arkansas game, so let's go with some numbers instead:
55: The total number of first downs in the game, 30 for Arkansas and 25 for the Tigers. Most of those came on first or second down; the teams converted "only" eight third- and fourth-down conversions.
1,036: The total yardage in the game, including 566 for Arkansas and 470 for Auburn. To put that into context, New Mexico State went into this week with 1,313 yards of total offense -- for the season (five games).
428: Passing yards for the Razorbacks; Army had 408 in six games at the beginning of the day.
330: Rushing yards for the Tigers. Cameron Newton accounted for 188 of them.
1.8: Points scored per minute by the two teams.

Ridiculously blown calls at crucial points of the game, both resulting in TDs, that gave auburn the win. And no, they weren’t “close.”

"that gave auburn the win"
Blown calls didn’t give Auburn a 22 point win. But I agree, that was not a touchdown.

Oh I'm sorry, were you up by 22 when those calls were made?
No - you were losing on the first one and up by one point on the second. Either way, please tell me how you think those were the correct calls, if you can. And then please tell me how they didn’t matter after that regardless.

You can cry about those bad calls all you want,
and I agree that both were bad. A bad call may stop momentum or change the face of the game, but I would hesitate to say they gave Auburn the win. (Just like those two interceptions didn’t give them the win by themselves either.)
I knew Tyler Wilson was pretty good, but I had no idea that Auburn’s secondary was going to put him into Heisman contention. Still, I don’t know how you stop a machine like Cam.

Given that Arkansas couldn't stop Auburn at all,
I think the Tigers win even without the benefit of the two blown calls.
That being said, Penn Wagers and his crew continue to be an absolute joke to this conference. At least Marc Curles didn’t implode again in Florida last night.

This has probably been mentioned before, but
doesn’t a name like Penn Wagers just smack of corruption? (Still agree that the Tigers win without “official” help though)
How long has he been around anyway?

Penn's been in the midst of controversy for a while
It was his personal foul (and not offsetting personal fouls) call against Florida that screwed the Gators against Tennessee in 2004. He was also in Jacksonville for Georgia’s on-field celebration in 2007.

Don't know if it was Marc Curles or not
But the officiating in that game still wasn’t the best in the world.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.

Auburn Just Did
If they give the Bayou Bengals much over half that, they will be toast.
