Jaylen Waddle is heading a bit further south for his pro career.

The Alabama Crimson Tide wideout was selected sixth overall by the Miami Dolphins Thursday night. Waddle is just the latest Tide player to go in the first round, and he in fact joins his former teammate Tua Tagovailoa down in Miami, too. He’s the 20th player from ‘Bama to have been picked in Round 1 since 2014, quite the mark to say the least.

Waddle joins a Dolphins squad that did quite alright for themselves. Brian Flores manned a pretty great squad in 2020, even while dealing with back-and-forth behavior at the QB spot. Waddle gives the ‘Phins an added dimension on offense and on special teams if he goes there as well. He was electrifying at ‘Bama whenever he got the ball. Now, it’s time to see if and when those skills translate to the NFL game.
