A fascinating college football game is going down in Oxford this weekend. Matt Corral and the Ole Miss Rebels will welcome Malik Willis and the Liberty Flames for a midseason nonconference showdown. Corral and Willis are two highly-touted prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft and this showcase could well be a doozy.

Liberty and Ole Miss are two of the highest-scoring offenses in the country. They each are averaging over 37 points per game, as Liberty is at 37.4 to Ole Miss’ 39.1. They also both rank inside the Top 30 in Yards/Play, as both are at or north of 6.6.
So suffice it to say, the offense will probably be the name of the game. Neither team has had trouble putting up points this season, and that should continue on Saturday. The Rebel defense continues to be a sieve and gave up nearly 500 yards of offense to Auburn last week. Liberty’s defense got off to a good start but hasn’t played super well lately. They gave up less than 300 yards to lowly UMass, but that came after allowing 454 to North Texas. They also let North Texas run 95 plays in that game. They’ll have to shore up because Ole Miss will certainly be the best team they’ve faced all year long.
This one will be very interesting. Ole Miss’ defensive issues should keep Liberty in this one for a bit. Talent could well win out by the game’s end, but I’m definitely clued into this one. Very, very clued in.
