It’s officially official.
Lane Kiffin is the new head coach for the Ole Miss Rebels. Having led the Florida Atlantic Owls to a win in the Conference USA Championship Game literally Saturday afternoon, Kiffin is now bound to be the head man in Oxford. The program announced the news on Twitter during the SEC Championship Game.
Lane was 35-21 as a head coach prior to jumping to FAU in 2017, having coached up the Tennessee Volunteers and the USC Trojans. So, this is the first time that he’s held a Power 5 job since 2013, and it’s with a program that certainly has shown that they can be more than competent this decade.
It will obviously be very intriguing to see how all of this plays out in Oxford, and, well, much of the SEC. Especially the folks in Knoxville, who’ll get to see Kiffin when the Rebs come to Neyland Stadium next season.
