The reigning National Champions were tabbed to win the Southeastern Conference again in 2018.
The Alabama Crimson Tide topped the poll revealed at SEC Media Days on Friday. ‘Bama received an overwhelming 193 points, nearly 70 more than the second-place Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs won it last year, of course, breaking a stretch in which Alabama had dominated the landscape. The Tide were naturally picked to win the SEC West, gaining 1,971 points and 263 first-place votes.
Speaking of which, Georgia leads the charge in the SEC East Division. They received 1,977 points, putting them over the top of all their peers, and also received 271 first-place votes. The South Carolina Gamecocks were picked to finish in second place, totaling 1,535 points. The Florida Gators, Missouri Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, Tennessee Volunteers and Vanderbilt Commodores all followed in that order.
Meanwhile out West, trailing Alabama were the Auburn Tigers. Auburn received 1,664 points and just 19 first-place votes from the media. The Mississippi St. Bulldogs followed in 3rd place, receiving two first-place votes and 1,239 points. Following them, sequentially, were the Texas A&M Aggies, LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks.
