Alabama tops CFB Playoff Rankings yet again

Not much new here, but one SEC team is just on the outside looking in.

You shouldn’t be surprised, but the Alabama Crimson Tide are atop the latest CFB Playoff Rankings. Yes, this might very well be a scheduled post at this point. The Tide are #1 again as they’ve been the whole way so far. The rest of the Top 4 is the same as it’s been: the Clemson Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan Wolverines comprise the rest of the bunch as we head into rivalry week.

The Georgia Bulldogs find themselves at 5th right now as we go into this weekend’s action. UGA will certainly be Ohio State Buckeyes fans this weekend, as an OSU win over Michigan could put UGA in prime position to get the #4 spot heading into SEC Championship Game weekend.

As far as NY6 contention goes, the SEC has a couple in play. Georgia for one, along with the LSU Tigers still have a great shot of getting in an NY6 Bowl. The Florida Gators are also 11th in the rankings, so they may very well have a shot, as well. We’ll have to see how things play out, but there’s definitely room for some big things to happen.

Other SEC teams who made the Top 25 include the Kentucky Wildcats (15th), Mississippi St. Bulldogs (18th) and the Texas A&M Aggies (22nd).
