South Carolina Gamecocks bolstered their 2019 recruiting class on National Signing day, especially so with the addition of a touted defensive lineman. Winter Park, Florida’s Jaquaze Sorrells announced his commitment to the Gamecocks on Wednesday. Sorrells, a 4-star recruit, is the sixth player of at least four stars to join the class.

Sorrells is the latest to join the Gamecocks’ 2019 recruiting class and the most recent defensive player to do so. He is the 12th defensive player in the group and he joins five-star Zacch Pickens, the No. 1 DT in the Class of 2019 and the 2nd-best JUCO DT in the nation, Jahkeem Green.
Listed at 6-foot-2.5, 310 lbs., Sorrells ranks 157th in the nation in the 2019 recruiting cycle. He also ranks 14th at his position and the Winter Park native is ranked 21st in the loaded state of Florida.
The Gamecocks’ class now ranks 19th in the nation and eighth in the SEC with the addition of Sorrells.
