The Georgia Bulldogs scored a huge recruiting win to start off 2019’s National Signing Day.
Kirby Smart and UGA managed to flip five-star wide receiver George Pickens to the Dawgs from their fellow SEC brethren, the Auburn Tigers. Pickens announced his intentions to go to UGA at Hoover Met on Wednesday morning.

Standing 6-foot-5 and checking in at 190 lbs., the Hoover native is unsurprisingly one of the best talents in the nation. A five-star recruit, Pickens ranks first in the state of Alabama and fourth amongst all wideouts in the class of 2019. The only players ahead of him are Jadon Haselwood (Oklahoma Sooners), Garrett Wilson (Ohio State Buckeyes) Theo Wease, also an OU commit and fellow Georgia commit Dominick Blaylock, who ranks 5th. So he’s certainly standing with some great talent. Pickens is also the 24th-ranked recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
As mentioned, Pickens joins Blaylock in this class, so Smart and the Dawgs have the 4th and 5th ranked wideouts in 2019 in tow. That will certainly play, and certainly will help whomever is throwing the ball to them when they see the field. It could obviously be Jake Fromm this year, and we’ll see who comes down the line in the future.
Georgia’s class still ranks No. 2 in both the SEC and in the nation behind the Alabama Crimson Tide.
