The five-star signal caller is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in recent memory. Fields stands 6-foot-3, 221 lbs. and is not only the top quarterback in the country, but also the best overall player in the nation, too.
This commitment could have serious SEC ramifications. The Georgia Bulldogs have been in pursuit of Fields since his decommitment from Penn State. UGA, as well as FSU, figure to be the frontrunners for the Kennesaw, Georgia native. Right now, it might be worth noting that the ‘Dawgs are the favorite to land him via 247Sports’ Crystal Ball. A swath of predictions for UGA were made on Thursday, which only adds fuel to that fire.
UGA already boasts one of the best classes in the country for 2018. Their class of 15 ranks 13th in the nation and fourth in the SEC. Adding Fields would put them just outside the Top 10, but make no mistake: He is a game-changer, no matter what.
We’ll certainly be monitoring this one.
