The LSU Tigers are now in on a talented power forward from The Lone Star State.
Sulphur Springs, Texas’ Victor Iwauakor received an offer from Will Wade and the Tigers staff on Friday. The Class of 2019 power forward announced that he picked up the scholarship offer on his Twitter account.

Although he is listed as a 3-star recruit on 247Sports Composite, 247Sports’ standalone rankings have him marked as a 4-star. They also have him just inside the Top 100, ranking 94th among all 2019 prospects. Iwuakor also ranks 18th amongst all power forwards and is 10th in the state of Texas, a group headed by Kentucky Wildcats commit Tyrese Maxey.
Iwuakor is currently an attendee of Sulphur Springs High School and also plays for Texas Hardwork on Under Armour’s AAU circuit.
LSU joins a growing list of programs that have offered Iwuakor to this point. They are among a field that includes the Virginia Tech Hokies, Seton Hall Pirates, Baylor Bears, Louisville Cardinals, Oklahoma Sooners, Houston Cougars and Texas A&M Aggies. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Illinois State Redbirds and others have also offered him, as the full list is now up to 17 schools.
As for LSU on the whole, Victor Iwuakor is the 19th Class of 2019 prospect to be offered. He’s the fourth power forward, joining 4-stars Omar Payne and Tyreek Smith as well as 5-star Trendon Watford.
