The Arkansas Razorbacks are staying busy. After offering 2020 5-star wing Jalen Johnson on Wednesday, they continued their pursuit of blue-chip prospects on Thursday. Mike Anderson and his staff sent an offer to Class of 2019 big man Will Baker according to Ky O’Dell, a hoops coach based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Baker ranks as one of the elite players in the Class of 2019. 247Sports Composite lists him as a five-star player, ranking 14th in the nation in the class. Among all centers, the 6-foot-11, 240-pound Baker ranks fourth, trailing James Wiseman, Isaiah Stewart and USC Trojans commit Onyeka Okongwu. In the state of Texas, the only player ranked higher than Will Baker is Kentucky Wildcats commit Tyrese Maxey.

Pretty good company.

Baker currently plays for Basketball University on the adidas AAU circuit. His teammates include four-star point guard L.J. Cyrer, who ranks 71st in the nation in 2019. Additionally, three-star point guard Sahvir Wheeler is also on the club.

Arkansas joins a pretty big list of programs that have already offered Baker at this point. The Kansas Jayhawks, Georgetown Hoyas and North Carolina Tar Heels have already done so, as well as the Baylor Bears, Texas A&M Aggies, Texas Longhorns and Auburn Tigers. Others to do so include the UCLA Bruins as well as the TCU Horned Frogs. In total, 15 programs have given him scholarship offers at this juncture.

As it pertains to the Hogs, Baker makes it four open offers to 2019 prospects. He joins Terry Armstrong, C.J. Walker and Jason Jitoboh as players that Mike Anderson and his coaching staff have interest in. They have already gotten a verbal commit from point guard Justice Hill in this cycle.
