We’ve got a big matchup in Baton Rouge tonight.
TUESDAY’S SCHEDULE
(All times Eastern; All odds from Action Network)
Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Tennessee Volunteers
Time: 6:30 p.m.
TV: SEC Network
Watch Online: WatchESPN
Spread: Tennessee -13
Total: 135.5
Tennessee was edged by South Carolina late on Saturday, and will now take their 14-11 overall record and 6-6 mark in conference play against Vanderbilt. The Commodores are coming off a drubbing by the Florida Gators down in Gainesville, and have obviously looked rather despondent for much of the season. This is a big spot for UT, because the schedule only toughens up from here. After this game they will face Auburn twice, Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky to finish the season. All of those teams are in the KenPom Top 50, so the Vols would be wise to handle business this evening.
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Florida Gators
Time: 7 p.m.
TV: ESPNU
Watch Online: WatchESPN
Spread: Florida -7.5
Total: 141.5
Arkansas has been mired in a four-game losing streak and have lost five of their last six entering play Tuesday. It might only get worse against a Florida team that has caught fire. They’ve won four of the last five games, but to be fair, the strength of their schedule may play a part in that. They’ve faced Vandy twice, Texas A&M and Georgia, with their lone loss coming to a solid enough Ole Miss squad. So whether the Gators are proving themselves worthy or just beating up smallish competition is worth wondering. That said, we’ll see how this one plays out given Arkansas’ trouble lately.
Ole Miss Rebels vs. Missouri Tigers
Time: 8:30 p.m.
TV: SEC Network
Watch Online: WatchESPN
Spread: Missouri -1.5
Total: 133
Mizzou is on the heels of an absolute beat down of Auburn at Mizzou Arena on Saturday. They’ll now welcome Ole Miss to town, as the Rebels are coming off a near upset over the weekend. They almost defeated Kentucky at Rupp, but were unable to get the job done in the final minute. This game is a proverbial pick’em for a reason, as neither team has looked particularly strong this year.
LSU Tigers vs. Kentucky Wildcats
Time: 9 p.m.
TV: ESPN
Watch Online: WatchESPN
Spread: LSU -2.5
Total: 150.5
LSU’s loss to Alabama over the weekend combined with Kentucky’s win over Ole Miss meant that UK rose to the top of the SEC standings. With both teams separated by just a game (10-2 for UK vs. 9-3 for LSU) this game is of strong importance in the SEC. LSU is a near 3-point favorite in this one, as apparently the 1-3 mark in the last four games isn’t enough to scare off Vegas evidently. Kentucky’s 3-point shooting, or lack thereof, may woe them even against a really poor perimeter defense from the Tigers. We shall see how this one plays out, and it should be a fun one at PMAC.
