NBA Draft 2018: Michael Porter Jr. drafted by the Denver Nuggets

MPJ had to wait a while, but he still landed in the lottery.

It wasn’t known where Michael Porter Jr. would slide due to injury concerns. The answer proved to be right at the end of the lottery. The Denver Nuggets used the 14th overall pick, the final pick of the lottery, on the Missouri Tigers wing at Thursday night’s 2018 NBA Draft.

MPJ arguably has Top 5 talent, but his back and hip injuries scared many teams off of selecting him. If you would’ve called this a year ago, many would probably call you a liar. Such is life when you play 53 minutes this past season and just two in the season opener.

Nevertheless, the Nuggets may wind up getting a star if he gets healthy and plays up to potential.

Porter Jr. is Mizzou’s first draft pick since Jordan Clarkson. He’s the program’s first lottery pick since Keyon Dooling was taken by the Orlando Magic back in the year 2000.
