Let’s go over last night first, shall we?
The Missouri Tigers lost the only compelling game of the night, 79-77 to the Temple Owls. The Tigers were nipped despite keeping it close towards the end. A Jordan Geist 3-pointer made it 77-75, but two free throws by Shizz Alston Jr. helped to seal it up for Temple.
Apart from that, nothing was compelling. The Georgia Bulldogs defeated Kennesaw State, the Florida Gators beat up North Florida, and the Vanderbilt Commodores put up 120 points on Savannah State.
TODAY’S SCHEDULE
(All games available via WatchESPN)
Eastern Kentucky Colonels vs. Tennessee Volunteers — 6:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network
San Diego Toreros vs. Ole Miss Rebels — 7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+
Saint Peter’s Peacocks vs. Auburn Tigers — 8 p.m. ET, SEC Network+
Monmouth Hawks vs. Kentucky Wildcats — 8:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network
Once again, this slate is pretty dry. The only real “compelling” matchups are the first two listed. Tennessee takes on a 3-3 EKU team out of the Ohio Valley, while Ole Miss matches up with the 5-1 San Diego Toreros out of the West Coast Conference.
EKU has the exciting Nick Mayo, who is tied for 10th in the nation in scoring, having averaged 25 points per game this season. San Diego also boasts one of the best scorers in the country in Isaiah Pineiro, who has put up 22 points per game this season.
So if you want to watch two of the best mid-major players in the country, tonight is your chance to.
Auburn and Kentucky will... likely win their matchups. Saint Peter’s and Monmouth are a combined 1-11 this season, and the Hawks are 0-7. Not too much effort out of the Garden State right now, unfortunately.
