The latest edition of D1Baseball’s Top 25 rankings came out on Monday. To no surprise, it’s littered with teams from the Southeastern Conference, who’ve been playing exceedingly as well as the season’s progressed.

The Top 5 boasts three teams from your favorite conference’s favorite conference. Arkansas and Vanderbilt occupy spots #1 and #2 going into the week. The Hogs and Commodores went 4-1 and 3-1 this past week to push their records to 30-6 and 28-6 respectively. Mississippi State, meanwhile, stands at #4 this week after a 3-1 round of play the previous week. The Bulldogs, 27-8, have been terrific this year yet again and seem to show no signs of slowing down yet.

#6 Tennessee went 2-2 this past week but still stand at 29-8 on the season. The Volunteers have been one of the nation’s best all season, and currently rank #3 in the RPI to this point. Sliding down the rungs, we next find a team from the SEC at #11. South Carolina, 24-10, has some more confidence in them after a 3-1 week at the office. Trailing them at #12 are the Ole Miss Rebels, who went 2-2 this past week to settle in at 26-10 on the year.

Next and, lastly, come the Florida Gators. An unblemished 4-0 week at the office has them at 25-11 on the year and #15 in the country.

Looking ahead, we’ve got some intriguing matchups coming between ranked squads. Arkansas plays South Carolina, as the Gamecocks will have a crack at the top team in the land. Meanwhile, we’ve got ourselves a Top 5 matchup between #4 Mississippi State and #2 Vanderbilt coming your way this weekend, as well.
