The rich got richer at the end of the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, as the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs selected LSU’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the 32nd pick of the draft.
Edwards-Helaire was the featured running back for the national champion Tigers, memorably playing huge roles in LSU’s win over Alabama and Title Game victory over Clemson. He was named to the All-SEC First Team for his efforts this past season.
Immediate comparisons were made between Edwards-Helaire and Brian Westbrook, who Chiefs coach Andy Reid coached for multiple seasons in Philadelphia. If Kansas City can get Westbrook levels of production out of Edwards-Helaire, they could very well be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy yet again soon.
