OLE MISS 3, ARKANSAS 2
The #2 seed in the SEC Baseball Tournament has been ousted.
The Ole Miss Rebels edged the Arkansas Razorbacks 3-2 on Friday afternoon to send them packing back to Fayetteville. In turn, Ole Miss survives the double elimination round, and moves on to face Georgia in the semis on Saturday afternoon.
The Hogs built up a 2-0 lead in this one in the top of the 4th inning. Their two runs came off the back of a two-run bomb by Matt Goodheart with one out in the stanza. Leadoff hitter Trevor Ezell scored along with him on the homer, and it appeared that the Razorbacks were going to continue their momentum.
But in the bottom of the 5th, the tide began to turn. Designated hitter Kevin Graham smacked a two-out solo home run that sliced the lead in half. The 6th and 7th innings went quietly, but then Ole Miss struck again in the 8th. Thomas Dillard laced a single to center, scoring Cooper Johnson. Then later, Grae Kessinger scored Jacob Adams on a sac fly to give the Rebels the lead.
A scoreless top frame in the 9th inning later, and Ole Miss was celebrating.
