Another Mississippi State Bulldogs draftee is off the board.
The Green Bay Packers have selected center Elgton Jenkins in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Jenkins joins his teammates Jeffery Simmons, Montez Sweat and Johnathan Abram as the Bulldogs who’ve been taken so far in the Draft, as State is certainly sending out a lot of top-level players very quickly.
Jenkins should be able to translate very well to the NFL as he’ll be hiking the ball to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the foreseeable future. He has played at guard before, which may help in the versatility department going forward if he needs to move to a different position.
The four players selected so far from the Bulldogs matches their entire crop from the 2018 NFL Draft. So, needless to say, there’s been a lot of movement out of Starkville with more to possibly come along the way.
Best of luck to Elgton Jenkins in Green Bay!
