A dynamite skill position player is off the board and heading to the Bay Area.

The San Francisco 49ers just used their 2nd round selection on Deebo Samuel . Samuel, who played with the South Carolina Gamecocks, is the latest SEC star off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Samuel was an all-purpose weapon for South Carolina in his time with the Gamecocks. He can catch passes with the best of them; he can run; he can return punts and kicks; he can do just about anything you could ask for and with a lot of acceleration, as well. By all accounts, he should fit in very nicely with the Niners going forward.

Deebo is the first Gamecock to be drafted in this year’s NFL Draft. Last year, Hayden Hurst broke a two-year drought after no player from SC had been selected since 2016. Samuel’s the first second-round pick in the NFL Draft from South Carolina since D.J. Swearinger back in 2013.

Best of luck to Deebo Samuel with San Francisco!
