Another SEC player is off the board in Thursday night’s 1st Round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jim Thorpe Award winner Deandre Baker of the Georgia Bulldogs was just selected by the New York Giants. Baker, who is among the great cornerbacks in this year’s class, had to wait a little bit. But he’ll now head up to the Meadowlands to play ball.

Baker played four years at UGA and had an incredibly accomplished career. He had seven interceptions, 116 tackles and four TFL while there. He also came away with 23 passes defended. Undoubtedly, Baker was a shutdown corner who played against top-tier competition year in and year out in the SEC.

Congrats to Deandre Baker, and best of luck to him with the Giants.
