This week’s SEC Players of the Week have been announced, and the hardware is going to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky Wildcats.

Tua Tagovailoa is the recipient of the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award. The accomplished sophomore QB is on the heels of a dynamite performance against the Texas A&M Aggies. Tua threw for nearly 400 yards, falling just shy with 387. He accounted for five total touchdowns — 4 passing, 1 rushing — in one of his best efforts of the season. Which is saying quite a lot.

Meanwhile, Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen is the Defensive Player of the Week. Allen helped anchor a defense that stifled Nick Fitzgerald and the Mississippi St. Bulldogs, en route to a 28-7 victory. Josh had six tackles, two TFL and picked up a sack, as well. It was one of his best performances of the season as he’s looking more and more like one of the best players in the conference.

Elsewhere, Noah Igbinoghene (Auburn Tigers) and Dameon Pierce (Florida Gators) were named Special Teams and Freshman of the Week. Jervontius Stallings (Kentucky) was the O-Line Player of the Week, while Isaiah Buggs (Alabama) and Javon Kinlaw (South Carolina Gamecocks) will share D-Line Player of the Week this time around.
