For the last nine years, the Kentucky Wildcats have now had at least one lottery pick. This factoid comes after Kevin Knox was selected by the New York Knicks at Thursday night’s NBA Draft.
Knox joins elite company with John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Brandon Knight, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Nerlens Noel, Julius Randle, Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, Jamal Murray, De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Bam Adebayo as past Wildcat lotto picks. He’s the first Kentucky player to be drafted by the Knicks since Walter McCarty all the way back in 1996.
At UK, Knox averaged 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. He was integral for the Wildcats, who made it to the Sweet 16 in the 2017-18 season.
Congrats to Knox and best of luck with the Knicks!
