NFL Draft 2018: Jacksonville Jaguars draft Taven Bryan

The first Gator is off the board...

Taven Bryan won’t have to relocate too far from Gainesville for the first stop in his NFL career.

Bryan was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Jags took him with the No. 29 overall pick, giving the SEC nine total players so far in the 1st round with the addition of this Florida Gators defensive lineman.

Bryan had a career-high 4.0 sacks, 6.0 TFL and 37 total tackles in his junior season for the Gators in 2017. In his career, he had 62 total tackles, 10.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, an INT, a pass defended, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

He joins a fierce defensive line that includes the likes of Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue, among several others. And a defense that includes star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is among the elite in the NFL.

Best of luck to Taven in the NFL!
