SEC Softball Midweek in Review, April 17-18

  • Tennessee 11, ETSU 3
  • LSU 8, Northwestern State 0
  • Mississippi State 3, Memphis 1

  • Florida 19, Florida A&M 3
  • Georgia 10, USC Upstate 0
  • Campbell 3, South Carolina 2
  • Ole Miss 7, UL Monroe 0
  • Alabama 4, Southern Miss 2
  • Kentucky 7, Western Kentucky 1

It was a pretty dry week, all things considered for everyone, as we outlined in our preview. Apart from South Carolina’s surprising 3-2 loss to Campbell, all the teams in the SEC racked up victories.

Some were more lopsided than others, as Florida defeated Florida A&M 19-3, Tennessee defeated ETSU 11-3 and Georgia took down USC Upstate 10-0. Ole Miss, LSU and Kentucky also routed their opponents, winning 7-0, 8-0 and 7-1 respectively.

Others were not so fortunate. Alabama had to scratch out a 4-2 win over Southern Miss on Wednesday. Also, Mississippi State squeaked out a 3-1 victory over Memphis on Tuesday.

This was the final segment of midweek play, as we’ll reset to just conference play here on out on the weekends. Safe to say, the SEC ended on a pretty high note.
