Les Miles and the Tigers live to fight another day as LSU took down Jacksonville State 34-10 on Saturday night in Death Valley.
Without Leonard Fournette, who was out with an ankle injury. Derrius Guice was in the line and performed well in being their primary ballcarrier. Purdue transfer Danny Etling was called to save the day under center and he did just that as well.
Fournette and Brandon Harris’ replacements both played well in the victory. Guice rushed for 155 yards on merely 19 carries while Etling did enough under center, going 6-for-14 on passing attempts with a touchdown and interception. Not only that, but Etling also scored on a rushing touchdown as well. Bry’Kiethon Mouton also found the end zone on Saturday night and DeSean Smith was the man to score on the receiving TD, a 46-yard completion in the first quarter.
Let’s not forget about LSU’s defense. They limited Jacksonville State to just 13 points with two interceptions and two sacks. By the way, remember when Arden Key set a goal of 20 sacks? Well, he added to that tally with a sack on Saturday night.
