LSU 6, Alabama 4

The Alabama Crimson Tide's season has come to an end at the hands of the LSU Tigers who defeated the Tide 6-4 to eliminate them from the WCWS.

Thanks to a big fourth inning in which they scored four runs, the Tigers were able to move on to Sunday action in their half of the bracket despite losing to Michigan on Friday night. The victory means that the Tigers will face either Auburn or Georgia on Sunday afternoon.

Sandra Simmons, who hit a home run to begin the scoring in the first inning, got it going in the fourth inning as well after she singled to score Amber Serrett. The Tigers weren't done there though as Emily Griggs would later score on a passed ball, giving way to Sahvanna Jaquish eventually bringing Simmons and Bailey Landry home with a two-RBI double to left.

The Tide cut into the big lead that the Tigers had in the bottom of the sixth inning. Leona Lafaele started it off with a homer which was then followed by an RBI single by Chandler Dare. Kallie Case would later reach on a fielding error that scored Dare but Alabama would not be able to fully capitalize despite putting pitcher Allie Walljasper in a precarious position on the mound.

Auburn 4, Georgia 3

--- by Michael Tate

The Georgia Bulldogs faced off against the Auburn Tigers as the Cinderella darling of the early part of the WCWS.

The hitting kicked off early for the Tigers when leadoff hitter Tiffany Howard singled to the pitcher. After advancing into scoring position following a throwing error by the catcher, Emily Carosone hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Howard in the process, giving Auburn a 1-0 lead at the jump.

Georgia wasted little time in answering. Alex Hugo doubled down the left field line to begin the bottom of the second inning. After a couple hits scattered about that would soon tie the game, Samantha LaZear stole home after a bad throw by the catcher to give Georgia a 2-1 lead. Georgia would then push their lead up to 3-1 and looked to be on the cusp of heading farther in the winner's bracket.

However, the Auburn bats would wake up and suddenly put the Bulldogs on their heels. Victoria Draper singled up the middle to begin the comeback and after Howard reached base following an error, SEC Player of the Year Kasey Cooper singled through the right side to score Victoria Draper to cut the deficit to one. Carosone would soon follow with a game-tying single to right to bring Howard home. The stage would be set for Jade Rhodes, and Rhodes would come through in the clutch as she would reach base on a fielder's choice score Cooper in the process to give Auburn the lead.

One clean inning later, and Auburn proved to be victorious. The Tigers will now play at 7 p.m. ET with a spot in the College World Series final on the line. Georgia, meanwhile, faces elimination and will take part in another all-SEC encounter against LSU on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET.
