Les Miles’ strong showing this summer continued Saturday night when four-star wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon, out of Bradenton, Florida and the famed IMG Academy, announced via Twitter that he had committed to the LSU Tigers.

Ausbon is the latest of gets for LSU and their ever-surging 2017 class. The class has scored eight commits since the beginning of May, and Ausbon is the second player to commit in as many days. On Friday, fellow wide receiver Mannie Nethrerly of Crosby, Texas committed, and with the addition of the 6-foot-2.5, 217-pound receiver in Ausbon, LSU’s 2017 class now has three receivers listed in the class per 247Sports.
The Bradenton native is a Top 10 player in the state and his position via 247Sports’ rankings, and Top 15 in both state and position via their composite rankings. He chose the Tigers over fellow SEC peers Texas A&M and Auburn and Michigan of the Big Ten, which represented his Top 4 that he named back on June 7.
Jhamon Ausbon’s commit gives LSU the fifth-ranked class in 2017 and now stand at No. 2 in the SEC, after previously being behind Georgia. Alabama, for the moment, is No. 1 in the conference with two five-star players, 10 four-star players, and two three-star players while LSU has one five-star, six four-stars with Ausbon now in play, and seven three-stars.
Congrats to Ausbon on his decision, and best of luck in Baton Rouge! Highlights can be found below.
