The Texas A&M Aggies received more good news on the recruiting front Tuesday when 4-star linebacker Santino Marchiol announced his college intentions.

Marchiol explained in detail why he chose A&M, per Taylor Hamm of 247Sports.
It was a long, hard recruiting process and it's really tricky with every school telling you the same thing that they want you and there was a lot of reading between the lines with my recruiting. At Texas A&M, I felt like it was the only place where they wanted me to be the first to commit but they never pressured me into it like these other places. I had a great relationship with everyone there, the players and the coaches. It really just fell into place when I sat down with Coach (John) Chavis, who is a historical legend in the SEC. He's put the most linebackers in the NFL which is crazy. Having an opportunity to play for him and a staff like that in the SEC, in College Station, it doesn't really get any better.
It's been a good month for the Aggies, as Marchiol represents the eighth commitment in just over a month for A&M. Marchiol, a 6'2", 222-pound linebacker from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fl., is a dynamic and versatile talent that could play either inside or outside for the Aggies.
He has the size and instincts to be a standout inside linebacker at the next level. His ability to diagnose plays and take the correct angles could get him on the field as a true freshman in 2017. However, it appears his best position could be on the outside, rushing the passer, at the next level.
Get your popcorn ready @AggieFootball because @s_marchiol32 is big-time!

His size—and potential to get even bigger at the next level—and explosiveness make him an ideal candidate to play outside linebacker once he arrives in College Station.
Playing at the prestigious IMG Academy, Marchiol faces elite competition on a weekly basis. It's also given him an advantage on preparation as he prepares for life in the SEC.
A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin is on a recruiting roll right now and things could get even better. IMG is also home to another pair of 4-star prospects who are high on the Aggies: quarterback Kellen Mond and receiver Jhamon Ausbon.
That's not lost on Marchiol.
I know both Kellen and Jhamon are both very interested in A&M as well. I think they'll both be making their decisions shortly here as well. I'm going to be on them about playing together at A&M and continuing this tradition. We want to play together in college so I'm excited to make it real.
The Aggies now have 14 commitments for the class of 2017 and rank No. 13 in 247Sports' composite team rankings.
