LSU Softball advances to the 2016 Women's College World Series

Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports

They rallied from a 1-0 hole, and now, the LSU Tigers are headed to the Women's College World Series.

The Tigers faced elimination on Saturday after falling to the JMU Dukes on Friday via a walk-off. Like their bat-swinging male counterparts however, LSU showed a tremendous amount of fight as they battled back to net the equalizing win early Saturday afternoon. Then, in the deciding Game 3, the Tigers took it from under the Dukes on their home diamond, and as a result, LSU is OKC-bound.

This will be the fifth appearance for the Tigers in the WCWS and the second in as many years. They also made the cut back in 2012, 2004 and 2001 and still seek their first National Championship.

Congrats, and also best of luck to LSU!
