Mizzou Softball advances to 2016 NCAA Super Regionals

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

With their victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, the Missouri Tigers have advanced to the 2016 NCAA Super Regionals.

The Tigers defeated the Huskers 9-0 continuing an epic performance so far in this year's NCAA Regionals round. The Tigers had previously won over Nebraska 8-0 after run-ruling them Friday, this after a 9-0 run-rule victory over BYU on Thursday night.

This is the eighth time that the Mizzou Softball program has made the NCAA Super Regionals and the second consecutive year after making it in 2015. The Tigers have missed the Super Regionals just once since 2008, with their lone absence coming in 2014.

Now the attention turns to making the Women's College World Series, a feat that the program has not reached since all the way back in 2011. To do that, they will have to face the winner of the Michigan Regional bracket, which could very well be the Wolverines, who will play on Sunday against either Miami (Ohio) or Notre Dame.
