NFL Draft 2016: Pharoh Cooper selected by the Los Angeles Rams

The Gamecocks are finally on the board as their talented wide receiver heads west.

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The first South Carolina Gamecocks pick in the 2016 NFL Draft is Pharoh Cooper who has joined the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams spent their fourth round selection, No. 117 overall, on Cooper, a very talented wide receiver who spent time attacking defenses during his career at South Carolina, especially so in his sophomore season when he picked up 1,136 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. In his career, Cooper amassed over 2,100 receiving yards and over 2,600 yards from scrimmage.

Cooper becomes the latest draft pick for South Carolina in an NFL Draft since Chris Culliver had to wait until Round 3 to hear his name called back in 2011.

Congrats to Cooper and best of luck in LA!
