Missouri Tiger wide receiver and former five-star recruit Dorial Green-Beckham has been suspended indefinitely by the program, the program announced Monday. It has since been announced by many sources, including KOMU 8 News, Columbia's NBC affiliate.
According to the program release, the sophomore wide receiver was suspended for a violation of team policy. When asked if they could specify, Mizzou Media Relations Director Chad Moller told KOMU 8's Mihir Bhagat, "No. We don't do that."
A native of Springfield, Mo., Green-Beckham is coming off the heels of a stellar season. In 2013, the 6'6" wide receiver caught 59 passes, racked up 883 yards and scored 12 touchdowns as one of Mizzou's top receiving targets. Going into this season, he was looked to be just that again. Now, however, the outlook of his junior season is incredibly cloudy.
This has been a difficult offseason for Green-Beckham, who ran into trouble earlier in the year when he was arrested under the suspicion of being involved with illegal drugs. However, that was later debunked after he cooperated with authorities.
