Any of you actually buying this t-shirt? I know we all like to boast about the conference and all, but I can't see myself purchasing this thing. Besides the fact that I only buy merchandise for my own school, there are six trademark/copyright glyphs on this monstrosity. How exactly do you trademark "Florida" anyway?

The branding for the conference as a whole is blue and yellow because there are no schools in the league that use that combination.

No

Not taking money I could use to buy an Alabama shirt and instead using it to buy a shirt that brags about Auburn.

I always wondered who all of the generic SEC swag was for anyways

besides folks who work for the league office, who would presumably already have access to the stuff.

I was just about to write ...

I can’t imagine wanting this kind of thing unless my primary allegiance was to the Southeastern Conference, and the only way I could see that is if I were an employee of the conference itself. And if I see any Georgia fan (or a fan of any school not identified on the shirt, for that matter) wearing one of these, I might have to smack him or her upside the head. Any UF, LSU, Bama, or AU fan wearing the shirt will just get a weird look, but the upside of his or her head will be safe.

If an Auburn fan is anywhere near me, . . .

. . . I make no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the safety of the upside of said Auburn fan’s head.

I hate Auburn.

Maybe its for Ole Miss fans?

They can live vicariously through actually successful programs.

Sure it was a cheap shot

But it was a cheap shot out of love. I could’ve gone with Vandy, but I’ve got nothing against Vandy. It’s in the LSU fan handbook - never pass up an opportunity to mock Ole Miss.

Wouldn't take it if it was free.

I love being in the SEC (even if nobody else is apparently happy about it), but this is just too much.

Also, I bet Tennessee feels left out.

I would

Surely it could suffice for washing the car, sleeping in, or bumming around the house on the weekend. You know, instances where you don’t leave home.

I'm not too proud to admit that, if I owned one, . . .

. . . I would use it to dry my tears.

Perhaps if I were from the south...

…and stuck living up in the heart of Big 10 country. Might be kinda fun to sport around town!

I'd wear it if someone gave it to me

I would not, however, buy one myself.

A Pilgrim in an Unholy Land

This particular shirt isn’t my cup of tea, but I could definitely see myself wearing a generic “SEC” logo’d shirt around town and the finer football viewing establishments. At the present I just wear my own university’s gear but wearing a “SEC” shirt would be a nice poke in the eye to everyone that saw it…mostly because so few of them can understand the “SEC…SEC…SEC” bit that we all seem to do.
