Milton McGregor denies making payments -- through attorney
I'm not sure, but my guess would be that this is the same attorney defending him from charges of bribing Alabama politicians. So include whatever grain of salt you want to.

Mr. McGregor has never been asked to provide money for any recruitment or compensation of any current or perspective student athlete including Cam Newton at Auburn or any other school, and has never provided any type of compensation in that regard period no exceptions.

And another thing --

As a proud supporter of Auburn University Mr. McGregor wants it known that he does cheer loudly for Cam Newton and thinks he is the best athlete in college football.

Because you wouldn't want people thinking you were a turncoat or anything.

Nick Saban doesn't have time for this "reporting other people" stuff.

But things happen in professions that shouldn't happen. That's why we have an NCAA. That's why we have people investigate circumstances and situations.

If only half the fans in America had that perspective when their team was the one under investigation. Of course, Saban might feel differently if the NCAA looked into job denials ...
