The Florida Gators are two weeks removed from shredding the Georgia Bulldogs in Jacksonville. The World’s Largest Outdoor (and hopefully Socially Distanced) Cocktail Party was a rip-roaring success for the Gators, who are now positioned to represent the SEC East in the SEC Championship Game.
They are now hoping to continue to roll along on that momentum this week. They’ll face the Vanderbilt Commodores, who are still winless to this point in this truncated season. Vandy hasn’t had much to be happy about, although they did come close to nicking the Kentucky Wildcats last week. They came up just short in what was their best performance to date, but they are still understandably huge longshots to defeat the Gators on Saturday.
Lots of that has to do with just how lethal Florida’s offense is. Led by Kyle Trask, the Gators offense is armed with a deep arsenal of pass catchers and playmakers. From the likes of Dameon Pierce to the incredible Kyle Pitts, Trevon Grimes and others, the Gators run real deep. And it’s all shaped them into one of the best offenses in the entire country.
Vandy has been steadily improving on offense, week by week. To their benefit, Florida’s defense ain’t all too great. They might be able to make a little bit of noise on them. However, keeping up with the Joneses here is a tall, tall task for Ken Seals and Co. This one could get silly, and it might just be yet another case where Vandy is overmatched.
