Tennessee Volunteers offensive lineman Trey Smith will indeed be suiting up this weekend.
Smith, who’s dealt with a variety of health-related issues since October of last year, has been cleared to play in the Vols’ season opener against the Georgia State Panthers.

The main cause of issues for Smith revolved around blood clots in his lungs. This had been something he had dealt with in the past, and when they appeared in October of last year, it was a recurrence of an issue that had been plaguing him before.
Luckily for all involved, Trey will be able to play in the 2019 season opener at Neyland Stadium on Saturday. Smith is among the top offensive linemen in the country and last we saw him, he garnered Second Team All-SEC honors in the 2017 season.
