The Preseason AP Top 25 was released on Monday afternoon.

As always, the Southeastern Conference has occupied a heavy presence in the first poll rankings of the season. Six teams from the conference are in the Top 25, four are in the Top 10 and two are in the Top 3.

Leading the way are the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs. The two favorites to win their respective divisions are No. 2 and No. 3 in the first set of rankings, looking up at the Clemson Tigers, who are No. 1 to begin the year.

After the Oklahoma Sooners and Ohio State Buckeyes, who are 4th and 5th, we find the LSU Tigers at 6th. The Tigers are then followed by the Florida Gators, who rank No. 8 behind the No. 7-ranked Michigan Wolverines. You’d have go down a couple rungs to find the next team from the conference, as the Texas A&M Aggies are sitting pretty (and coincidentally enough) at 12th. The final team in the rankings from the SEC is the Auburn Tigers, who start off the year 16th in the AP Top 25.

While no other teams made the cut, a couple just missed out. The Missouri Tigers received the most votes of any team to not make the Top 25. They sit at the proverbial ‘26th’ spot with 117 votes, 24 votes behind the Stanford Cardinal. Meanwhile, the Mississippi State Bulldogs received 87 votes and the South Carolina Gamecocks grabbed 15.
