They’ll be playing next week, but news brought about on Saturday reveals that their Week 0 matchup may not be the last time we see the Florida Gators tangle with the Miami (FL) Hurricanes.
Brett McMurphy reports that the Gators and Canes have agreed to a home-and-home series. The series will reportedly take place in 2024 and 2025, according to McMurphy, who reported the news nearly an hour ago.
Florida, Miami agree to home/home series in 2024-25, sources told @Stadium. Teams will play at UF in 2024 & at UM in 2025, marking 1st home/home Florida–Miami contests in consecutive years since 2002-03. UF & UM open season next Saturday in Orlando

As McMurphy’s tweet indicates, they will play at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville in 2024 and then Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in 2025. When that happens, it will be Miami’s first trip to The Swamp since September 6, 2008 and just the third time since the turn of the 21st century, the other occurring on September 7, 2002.
Florida, meanwhile, will be visiting Miami for the first time since September 7, 2013 when the 2025 matchup occurs. I would be just the third time in the 21st century that they’d have played in Miami, the other time coming in 2003.
It’s impossible to complain about home-and-home series, and Florida-Miami is certainly a fun Sunshine State rivalry. So, we approve!
