Somber news today, as former Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Jared Lorenzen has died. Lorenzen’s family issued a statement on Wednesday confirming his death, this after he was hospitalized recently due to heart and kidney issues.

Lorenzen played from 2000-03 with the Wildcats. He amassed 10,354 passing yards with 78 career touchdown passes in his time at UK. His 10,354 passing yards is still the top mark for any quarterback in Kentucky football history. His 78 touchdown passes are second-best in program history, one behind the 79 that Andre Woodson threw from 2004-2007.

Jared was 38 years old at the time of his passing on Wednesday. Our best wishes go out to his family and friends.
