In a text to my colleague @RussDinallo, who produced our E:60 story on Jared Lorenzen, Lorenzen's mother Janet confirmed that Jared died today. He was only 38. Janet said, "I lost my sweet boy today after a long hard fight."

We love you, 22. pic.twitter.com/btPrpk8knO
Lorenzen played from 2000-03 with the Wildcats. He amassed 10,354 passing yards with 78 career touchdown passes in his time at UK. His 10,354 passing yards is still the top mark for any quarterback in Kentucky football history. His 78 touchdown passes are second-best in program history, one behind the 79 that Andre Woodson threw from 2004-2007.
Jared was 38 years old at the time of his passing on Wednesday. Our best wishes go out to his family and friends.
