Nine players from the Southeastern Conference were featured on the 2019 Rimington Trophy Watch List. The watch list dropped last Friday and has an assortment of the best centers in the nation.
The nine players from the conference made the cut came across nine different teams, of course. The youngest of the bunch is Trey Hill of the Georgia Bulldogs. Hill is merely a sophomore, but the 6-foot-4, 330-pounder gained plenty of recognition as a freshman last year and should be poised for success in the trenches again.
There are three redshirt seniors from the SEC to be featured on this watch list. Those players include Nick Buchanan of the Florida Gators, Brandon Kennedy of the Tennessee Volunteers and finally, Ryan McCollum of the Texas A&M Aggies. Who says age is a problem? These dudes will still be mashing at the LOS this year and could be poised for big years.
There are two ‘true’ seniors on the list as well. Those players are Kaleb Kim of the Auburn Tigers and Darryl Williams of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. And finally, there are three juniors who made the list, as Drake Jackson of the Kentucky Wildcats, Lloyd Cushenberry III of the LSU Tigers and Trystan Colon-Castillo of the Missouri Tigers made the field.
