GAME OF THE WEEKEND: LSU VS. AUBURN
Auburn Tigers fans likely haven’t forgotten the events that transpired in Baton Rouge last year. Death Valley didn’t play kindly to Auburn, as they let up a 20-0 lead to their SEC West brethren and lost 27-23 to the LSU Tigers. This year, the two sides will meet at Jordan-Hare, as Auburn is out for redemption. This matchup features two of the best defenses in the conference against two QBs who’ll be looking to figure ‘em out in Joe Burrow and Jarrett Stidham. Expect this to be a stingy and exciting matchup.
BUT KEEP YOUR EYE ON OXFORD...
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Ole Miss Rebels have two of the best offenses in the nation. Led respectively by Tua Tagovailoa and Jordan Ta’amu, the Tide and Rebels have been putting up points in gaudy fashion. That means we should be in for an enticing contest on Saturday night in Oxford. This will be Alabama’s biggest test thus far and could prove to be the best offense they face this entire season. Could Ole Miss push ‘Bama to the brink? Hey, it wouldn’t be the first time...
VANDY GOES TO SOUTH BEND
The Vanderbilt Commodores will have a big road test on Saturday afternoon, as the 2-0 Commodores face off with the 2-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Irish looked a little bit shaky against the Ball State Cardinals after their impressive win over the Michigan Wolverines the week before. Kyle Shurmur and Co. will be aiming to catch Brandon Wimbush and the Irish napping this week. If it is indeed pulled off, it would probably rank as Vandy’s best win in a long, long time.
