The LSU Tigers picked up their first loss in a tight game against the Florida Gators.

The Gators’ defense gave LSU quarterback Joe Burrow his first two interceptions of the season; one for a pick six by defensive back Brad Stewart in the fourth quarter to seal the winning deal for Florida.

In addition to the two picks, Burrow completed 19 of his 34 passes for 191 yards with no touchdowns. Running back Nick Brossette led the Tigers in rushing with 95 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns.

Florida’s offense was about the same as LSU. Feleipe Franks went 12 for 27 for 161 yards, with one touchdown and an interception. Lamical Perine rushed for 85 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns.

Both defenses looked the same on paper with a 20 yard difference in total yards given up. (LSU 391; UF 371) It all came down to one play on the defensive side to determine the game.

This was a tough loss for LSU and a confident booster for the Gators in beating a top team in the SEC.
