Wren became the 12th hard commit for Arkansas’ 2018 class on Wednesday and the fourth to do so from the state of Texas. Four-stars Bumper Pool and BJ Hanspard of Lucas and DeSoto lead the group of Texans while Rockwall’s Tanner McCalister, a three-star player, is also part of the group from The Lone Star State.
Wren is currently listed at 6-foot-3.5 and 216 lbs. as he enters his senior season. The Horn High School attendee has starred at both wide receiver and outside linebacker in his time there and is listed as an athlete on 247Sports. He’s the 58th-ranked athlete in the class of 2018 per their ranking services and also finds himself ranked 100th in the state and 727th nationally.
Prior to his commitment on Wednesday, all indications were that he was to become a Hog. He had visited back on July 26 and, sure enough, just about a week later he decided to make it all official. Wren had boasted offers from 19 other schools including Baylor, Colorado, Missouri, SMU and Utah among others.
With the addition of Maureese Wren, Arkansas’ class sits 11th in the SEC but still finds themselves in the Top 50 nationally, ranking 43rd as of right now.
