The 6-foot-1, 195 pound Preston chose Mississippi State over finalists Texas Tech, Louisiana Tech and Vanderbilt. The 46th-ranked prospect in Louisiana also held offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Purdue and SMU.
Preston has good size for a young safety. However, he will need to add some muscle once he reaches campus.
The Saint James, Louisiana native is the 14th commit in the Bulldogs’ 2018 class.
