They're coming at a snail's clip, but this Cinderella Story of a team down in Tuscaloosa catching fire on the recruiting trail as fall camp nears.

In the last few weeks, the Alabama has hosted major recruiting camps and weekends for several top prospects, including former Penn State commit, 5-star DE Micah Parsons.

Tommy Brown, 169th in the 247Sports Composite, was in town for the Tide's Champions Cookout on Friday and decided make his commitment known after officially being offered in June.

Brown is the the 12th-rated offensive tackle in the 2018 class and it's not hard to see given his otherworldly size and mauler-esque abilities. If you watch his highlights you will see, more often than not, defensive ends helpless against his first step and the basic Darwinian principles in his favor.

The kid is huge.

This is the Tide's first offensive lineman of the 2018 class and there will probably be room for only two more, so Brown's commitment is a huge get with guys like Jonah Williams, Lester Cotton, Ross Pierschbacher and Matt Womack on their way towards or already at upperclassman status.

Brown is also a legacy as his father, Vince, threw shot put for the Tide in the early 80s.

This also continues to prove the worth of current Alabama OLB coach and co-defensive coordinator, Tosh Lupoi, who is destroying it out on the west coast. Brown is a rising senior at Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California, one of the top high school programs year in and year out, and Lupoi is his primary recruiter.

Brown will certainly be called up on for major playing time by his second year in Tuscaloosa.

Congrats to Brown and his entire family!
