The Tennessee Volunteers recently bolstered their 2021 recruiting class again.
4-star wing Jahmai Mashack of Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California committed to the Volunteers on Tuesday. Mashack’s commitment was initially reported by Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com:
Breaking: Tennessee has landed the commitment of Top-60 senior Jahmai Mashack, he told @Stockrisers. “If I chose to leave home for school I wanted somewhere with a brotherhood..

Mashack is a very talented wing, ranking in the Top 100 in the 2021 recruiting cycle. He sits 92nd overall per 247Sports Composite, and ranks even higher on their standalone rankings, sitting pretty at 43rd. Mashack also ranks 16th amongst all small forwards on the composite rankings and ninth on the standalone rankings.
And finally, he sits sixth in the state of California, just outside a talent-rich Top 5 that includes five-star UCLA Bruins commit Peyton Watson, four-star point guard and Stanford Cardinal commit Isael Silva, and four-star shooting guards Reese Dixon-Waters and Malik Thomas, who are both USC Trojans commits. Wilhelm Breidenbach is the only non-commit so far in the Top 5.
The addition of Mashack has caused a big leap for the Vols in the recruiting rankings. In joining five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler, Jahmai Mashack’s commitment means that the Vols are now 19th in the nation in 2021 at the moment. They are also second in the SEC, trailing only the LSU Tigers.
