MIZZOU 71, GEORGIA 61
Jordan Geist scored 30 points in a not-so-aesthetically pleasing affair that tipped off the SEC Tournament. The Missouri Tigers advanced through the first round with their 71-61 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs, thanks in part to Geist’s career night. He had only hit 20+ points eight times before that, and the 30 he dropped topped the 28 he had against the Green Bay Phoenix on December 9, 2017. Mizzou will now play the Auburn Tigers in the second round of the tournament on Thursday.
TEXAS A&M 69, VANDERBILT 52
The Texas A&M Aggies assured the Vanderbilt Commodores that they would spend the entire conference season in ineptitude. The Aggies defeated the Commodores 69-52 on Wednesday night to advance into Thursday’s action. The loss means that Vandy lost every single game against a conference opponent this season. They went 0-18 in the regular season in SEC play and now their first round exit means they’ll have that fact stuck on them. Savion Flagg scored 29 points for the Aggies in the victory as he only had four misses out of his 16 tries from the field. A&M will now play the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the next round of action.
