Let’s look at what happened over the weekend.

Another entertaining week of SEC baseball is down, and there were some surprising results across the board.

Our record this week was 4-3, bringing the season total to 7-7.

After looking like world beaters for the first few weeks, Arkansas may have some cause for concern. They’ve now dropped two straight series, albeit to very good teams. They got the weekend off to a good start, beating Ole Miss on Friday night, but couldn’t quite get the marquee win. Their resume is fine, but that would have been a good series to have.

Georgia baseball is officially back. After sweeping South Carolina last week, they built off that and took two from a dynamite Texas A&M squad. Such is the case with the rest of the SEC, the schedule doesn’t get any easier, as the gauntlet continues. The Dawgs go to Vanderbilt this week, before returning home to play Kentucky.

The two most surprising results of the weekend came at the hands of Missouri and Alabama. Mizzou went into Auburn and promptly took two of three without fear, leading them to appear in the rankings this week at #18, according to D1baseball.com.

Maybe hope isn’t lost for the Crimson Tide after all. After dropping their first two conference series to Georgia and Tennessee, they looked dead. Then they took two of three from Kentucky. That just shows how fickle the SEC can be from week to week.
